Age 68 of Wilmington and formerly Custer Park, passed away peacefully, Friday morning, December 18, 2015 at her home.

Born October 28, 1947 in Oahu, Hawaii, Amy Antoinette was a daughter of the late Clifford and Antoinette Cap-Smith. She was raised in Chicago and graduated from Lindblom Math and Science Academy with the class of 1965. She later returned to Joliet Junior College, where she earned her Associates Degree in Nursing in 1989. On February 1, 1969, Amy married Thomas Francis Beck at St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Chicago. She worked as a pediatrics nurse at Riverside Hospital in Kankakee, prior to gaining employment as a surgical nurse at Saint Mary’s in Kankakee. Amy also owned and operated Serenity Antiques in Wilmington for seventeen years. She was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church in Wilmington. Amy will be most remembered for her love of being a mother and grandmother, as well as her enjoyment of antiques.

Survivors include her loving husband of 46 years: Thomas; five children: Paul W. Beck of Bourbonnais, Pamela G. (Daniel) Frencl of Frankfort, Daniel T. (Heather) Beck  of Wilmington, Kevin J. Beck of Custer Park, Scott E. (Rhonda) Beck of Channahon; grandchildren: Ryan Beck, Jacob Frencl, Nicolas Beck, Austin Beck, Emily Beck, Kara Frencl, Abby Beck, Joshua Beck, Mackenzie Beck, Danny Beck, Mikey Campbell, Olivia Campbell and Anthony Campbell; one brother: Clifford (Denise) Smith of Custer Park, and nieces and nephews: Angela McCann, Megan Smith, Cody Smith, Gregory Beck, Anna Smith, Cindy Galway, Elizabeth Beck and Alan Beck, as well as many dear and special friends, including her best friend: Marian Changnon of Oak Forest.

Amy was preceded in death by her parents; brother: Col. Jack Smith, USAFR; sister: Mildred Morgan and two brothers-in-law: Emil A. Beck and John Beck.

Visitation and video tribute will be held on Monday, December 21, 2015 between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington.

Funeral services will follow on Tuesday, December 22nd at 12:00 Noon in St. Rose Catholic Church, 604 South Kankakee Street in Wilmington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Reverend Steve Bondi officiating.

A private burial will follow in Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Wilmington.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Amy’s memory to Parkinson’s Research organization of the donor’s choosing.
