"Al"

Age 67 of Coal City, formerly Glenwood, passed away Saturday August 9, 2014 at Morris Hospital.

Born June 8, 1947 in Chicago, Al was the son of Joseph and Margaret Sosnowski-Wersching. He was raised and educated in Chicago, graduating from Mendel High School with the class of 1965. Al would go on to serve honorably in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Conflict, and On June 19, 1970 he married Carolyn Loseke in Spokane, Washington. After moving to Coal City, Al became a member of the Coal City United Methodist Church, and was well known for his ability for fixing things as a handyman. In his spare time, he enjoyed doing word searches, but will be most remembered for his passion for family and being a wonderful papa to his beloved grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife Carolyn; two children: Stacey (Darren) Roach of Coal City and Brian (Kristine) Wersching of Ramstein, Germany; four grandchildren: McKenna, Hayleigh and Aubrey Roach and Liam Wersching; one sister: Joann (Roger) Barbero of Atlantic, Iowa and numerous nieces and nephews.

Al was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Visitation will be held on Thursday August 14, 2014 between the hours of 4:00pm and 8:00pm at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block North of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City. Funeral Services will be on Friday August 15 at 10:00AM in the funeral home with The Reverend Walter Carlson officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.
