Alice Marie Sorensen

Age 79 of Wilmington, passed away Thursday morning September 27, 2012 at Bradley Royale Health Care Center in Bradley.

Born April 21, 1933 in Appleton City, Missouri, Alice was a daughter of the late George R. and Emma E. Rosbrugh-Bishop. She married Joseph M. Sorensen and he preceded her in deathin 2009. Alice and Joseph farmed in Wesley and Florence Townships for over 50 years and she was the former owner and operator of Custom Tee's Shop in Wilmington. Alice was a member of Ritchey United Methodist Church since 1963 and belonged to the Will County Farm Bureau.

Survivors include two children: Debbie (Jim Green) Tennant and David (Janet) Sorensen, both of Wilmington; four grandchildren: Nikki (Ben) Parsons of Indiana, Kurt (Amanda) Sorensen of Texas, and Jeremy Sorensen and Corina Sorensen both of Wilmington; three great grandchildren: Amber Tennant, Jadyn Sorensen and Gage Sorensen; one brother Hubert (Ann) Bishop of Manhattan and one sister June (the late James) Jacque of Wilmington, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents; husband Joseph, and two grandchildren: Sara and Eric Tennant.

The family will receive friends on Friday October 5, 2012 from 9:30AM until time of funeral service 10:30AM at Freitag-Reeves & Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington. Pastor H. Jae Lee from the First United Methodist Church in Wilmington will officiate. Inurnment will follow in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood at 11:30AM.

Preferred memorials in lieu of flowers may be made as gifts in Alice's memory to the Ritchey United Methodist Church or Hospice of Kankakee Valley.
