"Alice Kay"

Age 55 of Wilmington, passed away Sunday September 27, 2009 at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet.

Born July 11, 1954 in Lexington, Tennessee, Alice was a daughter of the late Chester and Hazel Allen-Taylor. She was raised and educated in Tennessee and Wilmington and was a member of the Wilmington Moose Lodge and the VFW Auxiliary. Alice Kay was known for collecting Roosters, playing euchre and riding motorcycles. She was also a John Wayne enthusiast and enjoyed collecting his memorabilia. Alice Kay was the type of person that never knew a stranger.

Survivors include two sons: Chad Taylor and Robert Maihofer, both of Chicago; one brother George Taylor of Wilmington; two sisters: Mary Ellen (Jack) Foster of Alaska and Carlene Schoonveld of Wilmington and niece and nephews: Donald (Genevieve) Hurt, Cheri Taylor and Joey Hurt, as well as numerous friends including Paula Barnett of Joliet.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be held on Saturday October 10, 2009 from 12:00 Noon until time of funeral service 3:00PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 219 North Joliet Street (two blocks North of Illinois Route 53 / Baltimore Street) in Wilmington. Pastor Ron Taylor will offiicate and interment will be private.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Alice Kay's memory to Kuzma Care Cottage, 635 S. Main Street, Wilmington, Illinois 60481.
