Alberta Mae Larson

Alberta Mae Larson, age 90, of Morris; Passed away peacefully in her sleep from her earthly home to her heavenly home and Savior on August 16, 2021. Alberta was born on May 13, 1931 to Josiah and Evelyn (Peterson) Johnson. She was in the Newark High School Class of 1949, enjoyed continuing friendships with classmates, and could always sing the Newark Fight Song. She married Stanley Larson on October 6, 1951. She and Stanley raised their three children on the farm where they spent most of their married life. She enjoyed caring for her house and flower garden and loved welcoming people into her home. Alberta dedicated her life to serving her family and her church. She loved going to church as often as possible. She loved Bible study, her home extension get-togethers, and keeping up relationships with many family members, friends, and neighbors. She was also dedicated to the Family Bible Camp that she and Stan helped organize for years. Her greatest concern was that everyone she knew had a saving relationship with Jesus Christ. Only God knows how many kringla she made to serve her loved ones.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Stanley, her daughter Nancy Rossi, her brothers Jim and Willis, and her sister-in-law Shirley Johnson Seidler.

She is survived by her sister and best friend Lorraine Mickelson; her sister-in-law Delores Johnson; her children Steve (Kristi) Larson and Jonathan Larson; her grandchildren Anna (Patrick) VandenBos, Jodi (Mark) Johnson, Sarah (Ben) Lawrence, Kelli (Ramon) Diaz, and Seth (Rebecca) Larson; and her great grandchildren Caleb, Adelyn, Joshua, Evelyn, Isaac, Axel, Breanna VandenBos; Jacob, Nathan, Micah, Elizabeth, Abigail, Hannah Johnson; Felicity, Thomas Lawrence; Tobias, Lydia, Mateo Diaz.

She is also survived by many much loved nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be given to Grace Lutheran Church or to the family, to be given to missions that Alberta supported.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Morris with her son, Pastor Steve Larson and Pastor Steve Cook officiating. Interment will be at Saratoga Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m.to 11:00 a.m. at the church.
