Albert Croarkin

Age 72 of Chicago, passed away Sunday January 11, 2015 at Provena Our Lady of Victory in Bourbonnais.

Born July 21, 1942 in Chicago, Albert Raymond was a son of the late Gerald and Mildred (Wasson) Croarkin. He was raised and educated in Chicago and went on to honorably service in the United States Army. Albert retired from the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA), where he drove a bus for 35 years. He will be remembered as a great sports fan.

Survivors include his four sons: Kevin Croarkin of Wilmington, Charles (Tammy) Croarkin of Essex, Matthew Croarkin of Wilmington and Scott (Dawn) Croarkin of Romeoville; (12) grandchildren: Cody, Charles, Jr. "C.J.", Sharon (Matthew), Kelly, Colin, Stephen, Jessica, Nicole, Jaimey, Mandy, Courtney and Scott, Jr. "Bubba"; one great grandson Joshua with another expected; siblings: David (Joyce) Croarkin of Las Vegas, Nevada, Martha (William) Brennan of Crete, Thomas (Mary Therese) Croarkin of Columbus, Ohio and Daniel (Christine) Croarkin of Reno, Nevada, and his uncle Donald Croarkin of Chicago Heights.

Albert was preceded in death by his parents; wife Sharon Lynne (nee Norcutt) in 1981 and one brother Walter.

Cremation rites have been accorded per Albert's wishes, and the family will receive friends on Thursday, January 15, 2015 between the hours of 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington. Memorial services will follow Friday morning at 10:00 a.m. in Saint Rose Catholic Church, 604 South Kankakee Street in Wilmington, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Reverend Steve Bondi officiating. Inurnment will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Albert's memory to his family for their distribution.
