Agnes Rose McComb

Age 90 of Verona passed away Tuesday October 29, 2013 at Morris Hospital.

Born June 24, 1923, Agnes was a daughter of the late Louis and Frances Feltenz-Buffo. During the depression, Agnes hauled coal with her father, and on December 17, 1940, she married Wayne McComb. Agnes was a homemaker and farmer's wife her entire married life and helped her husband as a dairy herdsman for 40 years. Agnes was a member of Grundy and LaSalle County HEA for over 40 years, and enjoyed her garden and produce by canning it's bounty. She was an avid bowler, enjoyed the outdoors and cherished her family.

Survivors include her sons: Wayne L. (Judith) McComb of Morris, Kenneth (Rebecca) McComb of St. Anne, George McComb of Verona and Mike Hoover, who was like a son to Agnes. Three grandsons: Jeff McComb, Douglas McComb and Jason McComb; four great grandchildren: Joshua, Meghan, Alex and Lucas, and two sisters: Mary Buffo and Grace Hatch, both of Braidwood, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Agnes was preceded in death by her parents Louis and Frances Buffo; husband Wayne George McComb and one brother Dominic Buffo.

Visitation and video tribute will be held on Friday November 1, 2013 between the hours of 4:00PM and 8:00PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 408 East Washington Street (one block east of Illinois Route 47) in Morris. The family will then again receive friends Saturday morning November 2nd at Saint Patrick Catholic Church, 176 West Union Street in Seneca, from 9:00AM until time of service 10:00AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Reverend Ray Guthrie officiating.

Interment will follow in Braceville-Gardner Cemetery and honorary pallbearers will be: Jeff McComb, Douglas McComb, Jason McComb, Mike Hoover, John Trewartha, Bob Bates and Tom Coleman.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Agnes' memory to the Morris Hospital Foundation, 150 West High Street, Morris, Illinois 60450 or Saint Patrick Church Building Fund, 176 West Union Street, Seneca, Illinois 61360.
