Ada L. Powers

Age 78 of Carlisle, Indiana and formerly Custer Park, passed away Thursday morning April 23, 2009 at the home of her daughter.

Born in Pineville, Kentucky, Ada was a daughter of the late Lee A. and Melvina Lunde-Goodin. In her free time Ada truly enjoyed gardening, sewing, reading, collecting Bibles and canning.

Survivors include three children: Wilma (Clarence) Crafton of Indiana, George (Virginia) Powers of Braidwood and John (Estella) Powers of Streamwood, Illinois; nine granchildren to whom she was known as "Mama" and eight great granchildren, who knew her as "Bubble Gum Grandma".

Ada was preceded in death by her parents, husband George; (15) siblings; one son and two grandsons.

Visitation will be held on Friday April 24, 2009 from 6-8PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 219 North Joliet Street (two blocks North of Illinois Route 53/Baltimore Street) in Wilmington.

Funeral services will follow on Saturday April 25th at 10AM in the funeral home with Deacon Don Dyer officiating.

Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Ada's memory to the Island City Baptist Church.
