Age 71 of Morris, formerly of South Wilmington, passed away on Friday, December 25, 2020 at Morris Hospital.

Born March 8, 1949 in Morris, Mildred Bernice was the daughter of Melvin and Mary (Lampman) Mikkelson. She was raised and educated in Morris, and later relocated to South Wilmington where she lived most of her life. Millie volunteered with the Women's Auxillary at Morris VFW Post 6049 and was well known for cake decorating for various occasions. She was a devoted mother and homemaker, and in her spare time she enjoyed making ceramics.

Survivors include three sons: Bob (Lesa) Rhodes of Dwight, James (Debra) Rhodes of Braidwood, and Jason (Deidre) Rhodes of Gardner; six grandchildren: Kyle (Kristine) Fajardo of Pontiac, Sierra (Dean) Vander Zanden of Freeport, Shelby Rhodes of Aurora, Carter Rhodes of Morris, and Michael Berkey and Andrew (Kori) Berkey, both of Braidwood; seven great grandchildren: Lorenzo, Penelope, Olivia, Logan, Emery, Lillian, and Addison; one brother, Willard Mikkelson of Channahon, several nieces and nephews, and her dear friends: Nancy (Pat) McCloskey and Mary Vilt.

Millie was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter in infancy.

Per Millie's wishes, cremation rites are being accorded and memorial services will be held at a later date.
