Age 64 of Coal City, passed away Monday morning February 9, 2015 at Heritage Health in Dwight.

Born November 11, 1950 in Harriman, Tennessee, Mary was a daughter of the late William and Merta (Brown) Wallace. She was raised and educated in Harriman and on February 14, 1978 Mary married Dennis M. Gaddis in New Hope Presbyterian Church in Coal City. She was employed by National Fiberglass in Romeoville for 32 years. Mary will be remembered for her love of camping, reading and garage sales.

Survivors include her husband Dennis; daughter and son-in-law Mindy and Stan Daigger of Coal City; two granddaughters: Kristyn and Lexi Daigger; three sisters: Sue (Joe) Foster and Linda Decker, both of Smithville, Tennessee and Sarah Uerkwitz of Godley; one brother Robert Wallace of Smithville, Tennessee; brothers and sisters-in-law: Muriel Wallace of Smithville, Tennessee, Fred (Mary) Gaddis of Coal City, Rita (Dominic) Quigley of Godley and Victor (Monica) Gaddis of Mainz, Germany, numerous nieces and nephews, including: Joey (Dana) Foster, Jamie (Matt) Baranski, Courtney Decker, Wayne, Holly and Mike Uerkwitz, Jason Gaddis, Erin and Brad Hoffmeyer, Nicole (Craig) Foley, Ryne and Taylor Quigley, Mike Gaddis and Andy Gumb. Also not to forget all her adopted camping family: Eddy and Cathy Jett, Troy and Michelle Scholes, Steve and Barb Schneider, Tammy and Kevin Turner, Mary Schmidberger, Tom and Danielle Schmidberger, Ruth and Bruce Seplak and Jim and Barb McCauley; very special lifelong friends Birdie and Carson Stephenson and a special caretaker that took care of "Fred" (which was a nickname given to Mary) for her many months - Teresa Olvera. Her care was admired and will be cherished forever.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Bill, Stanley, John and Carl Wallace, one niece Sonya Foster and her mother and father-in-law: James and Dorothy Gaddis.

The family will receive friends on Friday February 13, 2015 between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block north of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City. Cremation rites will then be accorded and a private inurnment will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood at a later date.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Mary's memory to the Alzheimer's Association.
